Victory Rightfully Belongs to You

For some reason, living a victorious Christian life has become controversial. Yes, I know that some unscrupulous preachers have made merchandise of the saints and overemphasized healing and prosperity. However, please do not let that make you lose sight of God's will for you.
What is God's will for you and I in this life? Here on the earth, God's plan for our lives is under constant assault by the world, the Devil, and the pressures of our own flesh. So, if you look at the natural evidence around us, you might conclude that God wants our lives to be lives of constant struggle, lack, and weakness. But the earth around us is not an adequate representation of God's will and plan. Heaven is the only place where God's will is in perfect manifestation. Look at Heaven.
Have you ever considered the fact that the moment you die and go to Heaven, you immediately step into complete joy and absolute health, abundance, and victory? If it is God's will for us to walk in 100% victory for eternity once we die, doesn't it seem reasonable to believe that He wants us to experience a considerable amount of victory in this life?
If this is true, why are so many Christians are discouraged, weak, sick, and broke? Based on my own knowledge and experience with the Lord, I believe the answer has become clearer to me: we must have both the Word and the Spirit.
Back in 1997, the Lord visited me in a dream and talked to me about His plan for my ministry. He told me that He was preparing me to receive a new and more powerful anointing. (This new anointing came to me earlier this year--after 15 years of seeking Him for it). The Lord concluded by saying, "Now, this anointing will not come to you automatically. But if you will believe Me for it, it will come." I thought, "What do You mean it won't come 'automatically?' You are the Lord. This is Your anointing. How can it possibly not come to pass automatically if it is Your will?" But as I did some studying about the will of God, I found to my surprise that most of the time, God's will does not come to pass automatically. For instance, God has said that it is not His will that any sinner perish. He wants them to receive everlasting life. However, sinners do not automatically get saved. Countless sinners die and go to Hell every day--even though that is not His will for them. Sinners have a part to play in receiving from God. So do we.
I think one thing that has hindered us from receiving from God in recent years is that we have placed an emphasis on the Word of God to the exclusion of the specific leading of the Holy Spirit. None of the promises of God work like a formula. In order to triumph, we must have the specific leading of the Holy Spirit to know what promises to claim, what spiritual weapons to use, and what spiritual and natural actions to take. We must have both the Word and the Spirit.
In recent challenges I have faced, I have overcome by a combination of standing on the Word and getting in the Spirit. In my daily Bible reading, I have read until the Lord has drawn my spiritual attention to a scripture. In this case, Matthew 21:22--"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." So, I said to the Lord, "It seems to me that my need falls into this category of 'all things, whatsoever.' So, I am asking for Your help. Please meet this need. Please give me the victory I need." And I chose to believe that the Lord had heard my prayer and that He would grant it in a manner and timing of His own choosing.
But I knew that I needed both the Word and the Spirit to get the victory. So, I rolled the worries and cares over on the Lord, and whenever I felt prompted to do so, I would spend some time just rejoicing before the Lord for the victory that was already mine, and worshipping God in the Spirit. By that I mean that I would just get into the presence of God in prayer and then I would let the Holy Spirit just flow through me in worshipping God in other tongues, sometimes interpreting what I had just said, and by speaking to Him in pslams and hymns as Ephesisns 5:19 says to do: "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord."
Within a few days, the Lord gave me a spiritual experience in the middle of the night. Suddenly, I saw into the spiritual realm. And the Lord showed me that the source of the challenge I was facing was a particular evil spirit. I saw him in the vision and the Lord told me the spirit's name. It was also revealed to me how this evil spirit had been working against me. And in the vision, I saw that evil spirit driven off. knew I had my breakthrough and things began to change.
Allow me to reiterate, my victory--even though God wanted me to have the victory in my challenge--did not come "automatically." Victories rarely do. There wasn't anything automatic or easy in Joshua's battles, or those of David, Gideon, or challenges faced by the Apostle Paul. My victory came by getting into the Word and getting into the Spirit until the answer came.
So, in the challenges you are facing, whether you need healing, finances, or any other kind of breakthrough, do this:
- Stand on the promises of God's word as the Holy Spirit leads you to do.
- Consistently spend time in the presence of the Lord, worshipping Him in the Spirit in tongues, interpretation, psalms, and spiritual songs, until the answer comes.
Watch the video at the top of this page and allow to sink into your consciousness the fact that Christ paid a high price for your deliverance and victory. So honor his sacrifice by being determined to walk in every bit of victory that now rightfully belongs to you.
January 2013 Meetings:
Pastor Larry Bjorklund of Abundant Life Campus here in Joplin has invited me to hold meetings for three Sundays--and maybe more if the Spirit begins to move the way I believe He will--in January of next year. I hope also to have Eddie McMurray to minister with me for some of those services if he is avaiable. The meetings we held in Rome, GA together were remarkable. We ministered to approximately 100 individuals through tongues, interpretation, and other gifts, and we enjoyed a great move of God's Spirit. I believe the Lord will do the same, and more, in Joplin next month. Please come if you live in Joplin or within reasonable traveling distance. I will announce the specific dates in January later.
Dear Friends and Ministry Partners,
I wish to extend my gratitude to those who have sown their financial seeds into this ministry this month. The Lord has brought me into a whole new area of believing God for seeds like this to be multiplied back to the givers. So, I am actively and specifically believing God for the Lord to multiply these seeds back to you and to visit you in whatever areas you need His help.
